Maintenance
One partner, from design to after-sales service
Afric Froid designs, installs and maintains industrial and commercial refrigeration systems: cold rooms, refrigeration racks, blast freezing tunnels and ice plants. Our head office and design office are in the Ksar Saïd industrial zone, near Tunis. Our sales and after-sales teams also follow your projects in Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal, with our Afric Froid West branch in Dakar.
Design office, installation teams and maintenance department work together: your file follows your system from the first site survey to maintenance, and you keep the same contact. Afric Froid is ISO 9001 certified.

How we work, step by step
- Site visit and needs: we survey the site and note your products, the temperatures to hold, the volumes to store or freeze and the highest outdoor temperature.
- Design and quote: heat load calculation, choice of refrigerant (CO2, R290 or synthetic), compressors, evaporators and controls, then drawings and a detailed quote. Our design office
- Supply and installation: insulated panels, condensing unit or rack, brazed piping, evacuation, electrical connections and controls. Our installation service
- Commissioning: settings, tests and temperature checks before the system is handed over.
- Maintenance and after-sales service: follow-up during the warranty, periodic visits, repairs and spare parts. Our maintenance service
Dimensions, temperatures, products: in 2 minutes, our calculator estimates the cooling capacity, the recommended panel thickness and the electricity consumption.
The systems we build
Our services cover all our refrigeration solutions:
- chilled, frozen and controlled atmosphere cold rooms;
- refrigeration racks running on CO2, R290 or synthetic refrigerants;
- blast freezing tunnels;
- flake ice plants;
- refrigerated cabinets and display cases;
- insulated panels and cold storage insulation.
Well-known brands
We install and maintain equipment from well-known brands: Danfoss for controls and expansion valves, Bock and Bitzer for compressors, Güntner for evaporators and Geneglace for ice machines. You will find some of this equipment and its parts in our catalogue.
We choose equipment for its reliability, its efficiency and the availability of parts in your country, so that the system stays easy to maintain.

Up to 30% energy savings
Electricity is the largest cost of a refrigeration system, which runs all year round. On our installations, we reach up to 30% energy savings by combining three techniques:
- electronic expansion, which continuously adjusts the feed to the evaporators;
- floating condensing, which lets the condensing pressure drop when it is cooler outside;
- variable frequency drives on the compressors, which match their speed to the real demand instead of stopping and restarting them all the time.
Remote supervision, for example with a Danfoss AK-SM system manager, monitors temperatures and alarms. Maintenance then keeps these savings over time: a dirty condenser or a drifting setting is enough to push consumption back up.
An example: frozen storage cold rooms in Abidjan
In Abidjan, we built two frozen storage cold rooms at −20 °C for meat and fish, from design to commissioning: designed for 38 °C ambient, with several compressors in parallel, redundant equipment and Danfoss AK-SM remote supervision. Running on two capacity levels gave the client more than 50% energy savings.

Other projects: freezing tunnels in Dakar, six solar container cold rooms for GIZ in Ethiopia, potato cold rooms in Ouahigouya (Burkina Faso), a fish processing and freezing plant in Djerba, an industrial cheese plant in Tunis and a poultry slaughterhouse in Algiers. See all our projects.
Where we work
We work in Tunisia, Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal, and we have also completed projects in Burkina Faso and Ethiopia. For local projects, see our Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal and Algeria pages.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get a quote?
Fill in our quote request form with your products, the temperatures you need, the volumes and the installation site. Our design office will get back to you to clarify your needs, and a site visit can be arranged.
What does a maintenance contract include?
Periodic visits to check, clean and adjust your equipment, tailored to the size of your installation, and priority access to our 24/7 on-call service in case of breakdown.
Which refrigerants do you use?
Depending on the project, natural refrigerants such as CO2 and R290 (propane), or synthetic refrigerants. The choice depends on capacity, temperatures, regulations and the local availability of parts and technicians.
Do you provide follow-up after installation?
Yes. We take care of the warranty period, then offer a maintenance contract. Common spare parts are available in our catalogue.
