The Danfoss AKV 10P electric expansion valve controls the refrigerant injection into the evaporator and is driven by an electronic controller. It has brazed (ODF) connections and comes in eight orifice sizes, from AKV 10P1 (0.64 kW with R404A) to AKV 10P8 (18.1 kW with R404A): the model is chosen according to the evaporator capacity. Danfoss rated capacities. R404A/R507 and R407A: evaporating at +4 °C, condensing at 38 °C, liquid at 37 °C. CO2 (R744): evaporating at −10 °C, condensing at 0 °C, 1 K subcooling. MOPD with Danfoss coil 018F6905 (230 V AC, 19 W); it is lower with other coils.
