Afric Froid in Algeria
Since 2021, Afric Froid has delivered three complete refrigeration installations in Algeria: a cold store for fruit and vegetables in Annaba, the refrigeration equipment of a hypermarket in Oued Souf and that of an industrial poultry slaughterhouse in Algiers.
Each project was designed, sized, supplied, installed and commissioned by Afric Froid’s design office and installation teams, with an after-sales service that follows the installation once it is running.

Our projects in Algeria
Cold Store – Annaba
16 chilled cold rooms of 70 tonnes each, 1,120 tonnes of fruit and vegetables in total, and a work area air-conditioned through textile ducts. Work from February to June 2021.
Hypermarket – Oued Souf
12 chilled and 6 frozen cold rooms of 70 tonnes each (1,260 tonnes), refrigerated display cases and air conditioning for the sales floor, airlocks and loading docks. Work from May to October 2022.
Poultry Slaughterhouse – Algiers
2 chilling rooms, 10 chilled cold rooms, 8 frozen cold rooms, air conditioning for 2 work rooms and a 3-tonne-a-day Geneglace ice plant. Work from December 2023 to March 2024.

Designed for the Algerian climate
From the Saharan heat in Oued Souf to the salty coastal air in Annaba or Algiers and the large load swings in cold stores, each installation is calculated from the real site conditions. We size condensers for the highest outdoor summer temperatures, protect heat exchangers installed near the sea against corrosion (see our article on fin protection for coastal condensers) and take care of airlocks and docks, where doors open most often.
