Custom cold room installation

As a cold room supplier and installer, Afric Froid works in Tunisia, Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal. We carry out the design study, supply the equipment, install the system and commission it.

A cold room is calculated from what you store and the conditions it operates in.

We size every project for high outdoor temperatures, as in Ouahigouya, Burkina Faso, where ambient air reaches 40 to 45 °C.

What we calculate before proposing an installation

To design a solution, our engineering office starts from four pieces of information:

  • the dimensions of the room;
  • the storage temperature;
  • the type of product;
  • the quantities coming in each day.

From this data, we size the compressor, condenser, evaporator, copper piping and its insulation, wiring and expansion valve. The condenser is calculated for high outdoor temperatures.

We use BOCK, Bitzer and Danfoss equipment. Depending on the project, electronic expansion, floating condensing and compressor capacity control help reduce energy consumption.

Some examples of our projects

Afric Froid has completed thousands of projects, from small rooms to large warehouses. Here are a few examples, in very different climates and for very different products.

Ouahigouya, Burkina Faso: 3,000 tonnes of potatoes

Three chilled rooms at 2 to 6 °C with 90% relative humidity, for an outdoor temperature of 40 to 45 °C. View the project

Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire: meat and fish at −20 °C

Two independent frozen rooms, designed for 38 °C ambient and 70% humidity, with Danfoss AK-SM remote monitoring. View the project

Annaba, Algeria: 1,120 tonnes of fruit and vegetables

Sixteen chilled rooms of 70 tonnes each, with an air-conditioned work area. View the project

One point of contact, from design to follow-up

Frigo Indus is ISO 9001:2015 certified by DQS for the design, manufacture, sale, installation and after-sales service of refrigeration machines (certificate valid until 20 August 2029).

Frequently asked questions about cold rooms

How much does a cold room cost?

The price depends on the volume, storage temperature, panel thickness, equipment and installation site. A chilled room and a frozen room of the same volume therefore do not cost the same. To find out more, read our article on the factors that affect the price of a cold room, or request a quote.

What is the difference between a chilled and a frozen cold room?

A chilled cold room stores fresh products at −3 °C to +12 °C. A frozen cold room stores frozen products at −18 °C to −25 °C and requires thicker panels and a sturdier door.

Where do you install cold rooms?

We have sales and after-sales teams in Tunisia, Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal. We have also completed projects in Burkina Faso and Algeria.
