Danfoss NRV and NRVH check valve
Danfoss NRV piston check valve, and NRVH with a stronger spring, to prevent refrigerant backflow in liquid, suction and discharge lines. From 1/4″ to 1 5/8″ (6 to 42 mm), straightway solder, angleway solder or flare. Choose the type, then the size.
Danfoss NRV check valves let refrigerant flow in one direction only and prevent backflow. They are fitted in the liquid, suction and hot gas lines of commercial refrigeration and air-conditioning systems: cold rooms, chillers, heat pumps and VRF. Their damped piston makes them suitable for lines with pulsating flow, such as a compressor discharge line. The NRVH has a stronger spring: Danfoss recommends it for compressors in parallel (power packs), where pulsation and vibration are higher.

* Oversize connection: the body of the given size with connections one diameter larger. Min. opening: pressure difference at which the valve opens. 49 bar “E” versions for sizes 22s to 35s (A2L and A3 refrigerants) on request.
Three body types
- Straightway solder (6s to 19s): 49 bar, media from −50 to +155 °C; suitable for R134a, R404A/R507, R407C, R407F, R410A, R448A, R449A, R513A, R1234yf, as well as R32, R290 and other A2L and A3 refrigerants.
- Angleway solder (22s to 35s): 46 bar, media from −50 to +140 °C; HFC and HFO refrigerants. For flammable refrigerants, see the limits in the data sheet.
- Flare (NRV 6 to 19, without nut): 46 bar, media from −50 to +140 °C; A1 and A2L refrigerants only.
Choosing the right valve
- The pressure difference across the valve must always stay above its minimum opening pressure, including at the lowest capacity of a compressor with capacity control.
- Fit it in the direction of the arrow; solder versions are hermetic, with no risk of leakage through a seal.
- NRV valves are not suitable for oil lines.
