High-Performance Freezing Tunnels: A Strategic Project in Dakar for the Fishing Industry

Four High-Performance Freezing Tunnels Installed for a Leading Fishing Company in Dakar
As part of our ongoing work with major players in the fishing industry, we recently completed a large-scale project: the study, design, supply and installation of four high-performance freezing tunnels for a sector leader based at the Port of Dakar fishing harbour.
This new collaboration, with a partner who has once again placed its trust in us, confirms our ability to deliver innovative, robust refrigeration solutions suited to the specific challenges of industry. Each freezing tunnel was designed to optimise production, secure product quality and reduce energy costs, which are now decisive for companies operating in an environment as demanding and competitive as fishing.

Freezing tunnels designed for industrial excellence
Thanks to our teams’ technical expertise and a performance-focused design approach, each freezing tunnel offers:
- Exceptional cooling performance, with stable, reliable temperatures throughout the freezing cycle,
- Improved energy efficiency, minimising environmental impact and operating costs,
- Fast, even freezing, so every product quickly reaches the optimal core temperature, preserving its quality and freshness.
This project was designed to meet the strictest standards of the fishing sector. With freezing tunnels in its production line, our client benefits from consistent processing, control of critical temperatures and optimal output, even at peak times. This level of rigour makes each tunnel a real driver of industrial performance.
Freezing Tunnel Technical Specifications
The freezing tunnels in Dakar are sized for maximum efficiency while adapting to local climate and logistics constraints. Each freezing tunnel has the following characteristics:
- Product inlet temperature: +5°C
- Final temperature: -38°C
- Core temperature: -18°C
- Ambient temperature: +38°C
- Cycle time: 8 to 12 hours depending on the products frozen
- Approximate tunnel capacity: 5,000 kg
This performance makes it possible to process very large volumes with consistent freezing quality. A freezing tunnel is therefore a major asset for sites that need speed, reliability and precision, with full compliance with hygiene requirements and export standards. These installations give operators a reliable, durable tool designed to keep performing even under heavy demand.

A landmark project for the fishing industry in West Africa
Beyond the technical aspect, these four freezing tunnels represent a strategic step forward for the whole sector. Improved cold processing capacity directly helps to:
- Modernise local production lines,
- Raise preservation standards,
Make products for international markets more competitive.
Our commitment to a sustainable, high-performing cold chain
With this project, we confirm our commitment to helping our partners modernise their refrigeration equipment. Its success shows that our freezing tunnels are much more than technical installations: they are essential tools for meeting the sector’s economic, quality and environmental challenges.
With these freezing tunnels, we strengthen our position as a reference in industrial refrigeration in West Africa and demonstrate our ability to offer durable, high-performance solutions fully suited to the evolving needs of the fishing market.
